Gridiron Grit

It’s been a busy, but good, past week for my two sons – at least as far as their football goes.
Last week, at the year end athletic banquet at Blountville Middle School, my younger son Matthew was awarded the Outstanding Lineman trophy. Matthew, now a rising Freshman, plays Defensive End & Center.
Then this past weekend we travelled to Coumbia, South Carolina, for my older son, Andrew, to participate in the National Underclassmen Combine, a partner of Rivals.com. After a series of testing to measure athleticism players then compete in non-contact scrimmage, where each player is graded for skill. Andrew, a rising Junior, was selected as one of only a half-dozen QB’s from around the South to participate in the Showcase Competition, to play with and against some of the best players in the region.
Am I braggin’? Yeh. But why not?
